In July of 2001,
The Calling released
their first CD, Camino Palmero. The CD featured what would become one of
my favorite songs of all time, "Wherever You WIll Go". I had no idea
the impact the song would have on me over the
course of the following 3 years. When my partner of nearly 7 years left
in the Spring of 2003, I realized there was nothing I could do to stop him.
His mind was made up. A difficult process for both of us. Having
worked to "let him go" over the past 10 months, every time I hear this song, I
think of him. I truly believed that I would always be there for him.
And though I would never turn on him, (or any friend in their hour of need), I
often wonder "who will be there (for him) to take my place". When I commit
to someone in love, I give them my all, I realize sometimes it's not enough.
When I love someone, they are forever in my heart. This page was composed in April 2004.
So lately
been wondering
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone you'll need love
To light the shadows on your face
If a great wave shall fall and fall upon us all
Then between the sand and stone
Could you make it on your own
If I could
then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
And maybe
I'll find out
A way to make it back someday
To watch you
to guide you
Through the darkest of your days
If a great wave shall fall and fall upon us all
Then I hope there's someone out there
Who can bring me back to you
If I could
then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
Run away with my heart
Run away with my hope
Run away with my love
I know now
just quite how
My life and love might still go on
In your heart
in your mind
I'll stay with you for all of time
If I could
then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
If I could turn back time
I'll go wherever you will go
If I could make you mine
I'll go wherever you will go
I'll go wherever you will go
